A yeast probiotic is a distinct choice

Florastor Dual Action names Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745. This is a yeast probiotic, unlike bacterial products built around Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium. The full strain identifier matters. A broad probiotic comparison that treats all organisms as one ingredient would miss this difference and could transfer research or precautions across products that have different biological identities.

The daily capsule burden varies

The adult page suggests two capsules one to two times daily and permits use with or without food. It lists 20-, 30-, 50-, and 100-count sizes. Those counts do not all represent the same number of days: the selected routine can use two or four capsules daily. We do not choose a personalized dose or assume the smallest pack covers a month.

Storage and mixing instructions are unusual

Florastor directs room-temperature storage and specifically says not to refrigerate. Capsules may be opened into suitable soft food or beverages, but the page excludes carbonated, alcohol-containing, or very hot drinks above 122°F and says to consume the mixture within 30 minutes. These are product instructions worth retaining rather than replacing with a universal rule for all probiotics.

Check lactose separately from milk-allergy questions

The ingredient text lists lactose, magnesium stearate, and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Florastor says it can be appropriate for lactose intolerance, with a qualification for people genetically unable to produce lactase. That is not permission to ignore individual allergy or medical history. The captured text does not expose a numeric CFU quantity, and we do not infer it from the strain’s research history.

Read the evidence in its own setting

Florastor cites a long history of strain research and gastrointestinal and immune-support claims. A history of publications does not establish a finished-product trial for symptoms caused by GLP-1 medicines. The yeast identity also warrants a separate suitability discussion, especially for someone seriously ill or immunocompromised. A convenient room-temperature bottle is a handling advantage, not proof of universal digestive benefit.
